Bunda Grant Scheme: Announcing 2017 cohort

IFPRI-Malawi is pleased to announce the newest 2017 participants selected for our Bunda Grant Scheme (BGS) mentorship program, which offers a group of promising young master’s students from Bunda College at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture & Natural Resources (LUANAR) mentorship from IFPRI researchers in order to refine and publish their research. The program has been running since 2013.

The 2017 BGS recipients, their research topics, and publications are as follows:

  1. Yanjanani Lifeyo: Market participation of smallholder common bean producers in Malawi, MaSSP Working Paper 21
  2. Dorothy Chisusu: The contribution of common beans to household dietary diversity and nutrition in Malawi
  3. Doreen Mofolo: Efficacy of increased consumption of animal source foods to improve maternal and child dietary quality and nutrition and health well- being
