In view of a wide diversity of research findings and changing socio-political conditions since the FISP started eight years ago, the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in collaboration with the Malawi Strategy Support Program (MaSSP) International Food Policy research Institute (IFPRI) and several collaborating partners is organizing a one and a half day National FISP Symposium to be held at the Bingu International Conference Centre on 14th and 15th July 2014. The theme of the symposium is ‘Eight Years of FISP - Impact and What Next?’. The objective is to review and discuss the findings on FISP's impact and implementation over the past eight years. The main outcome is expected to be a package of recommendations on how FISP should evolve in the future. This symposium will act as a platform for sharing lessons learnt with senior policy makers and political leaders. Over 20 local and international experts have confirmed participation.
Formal invitations and a draft program will be distributed soon. For additional information, visit the event page or contact Dr. Charles Jumbe or Ms. Mary Ngwira.
