The Malawi Strategy Support Program convened a multi-sectoral event on 28 April 2015 in Lilongwe, Malawi. The main objectives were to present the outcomes of the report "Mapping the Linkages between agriculture, food security and nutrition in Malawi," that reviews the conceptual and empirical linkages between agriculture, food security and nutrition in Malawi, and to discuss the implications for programs and policies that work to enhance agriculture's impact on nutrition. Opening remarks were given by PS of MoAIWD, Mrs. Erica Mganga. In addition to speakers and presenters from Malawi, WFP-Rome and IFPRI-Washington DC, over 75 stakeholders participated from multiple sectors and organizations, representing government, UN, development partners, NGO’s and the private sector. The productive discussion yielded excitement and ideas for follow-up to ensure that key messages from the event are summarized and disseminated to policy makers. The Event Report summarizes the event proceedings, including summaries of: Presentations and links to slides and report chapters; key policy implications; and group discussion points and follow-up actions.
