Global research has already produced evidence confirming the critical role women's empowerment plays in addressing hunger and malnutrition. In fact, many believe that half of the recent reduction in child malnutrition can be attributed to women’s empowerment.

This is the theme of a dynamic Twitter chat taking place today, on March 8th, to mark International Women's Day 2017, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Hosted by Bread for the World, the Twitter chat will feature leading experts from IFPRI, Feed the Future, Millenium Challenge Corporation, and the Hunger Project. The paneliss will discuss the role of women in fighting hunger worldwide, and what can be done to accelerate this progress.
