This episode features IFPRI’s Research Fellow Berber Kramer, who in a conversation with Sivan Yosef, shares the story of how IFPRI researchers came up with the idea of using smartphone pictures to help small farmers in India reap the benefits of crop insurance. Working together, IFPRI researchers are testing a suite of innovative financial instruments that have the potential to help farmers manage risk, with the aim of improving resilience, incomes, and making inroads against poverty.
