Abstract
This seminar will discuss how micronutrient resilience can be increased for poorer households by delivery of nutritional enriched staple crops through biofortification. It will identify the type of crops that have been nutritionally enriched, the process of nutritional enrichment, and present evidence on the impacts of consumption of these crops in terms of micronutrient status and other health benefits. The seminar will then present ideas as to how these crops can be integrated in government policies to ensure higher micronutrient availability for vulnerable households in Malawi. It will also discuss the availability of different nutritionally enriched crops in Malawi, both now and in the future.
