This price bulletin for livestock and livestock products, was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the variation of weekly retail prices of selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets in Malawi.
Highlight
- Average retail prices of chicken and eggs decreased by 1 percent while goat meat decreased by 6 percent during March.
- Average retail prices of fresh mlamba, fresh chambo and fresh usipa decreased by 1 to 12 percent while prices for fresh micheni increased by 5 percent.
- Average retail prices for dried chambo, dried micheni, dried usipa and dried mlamba increased by 2 to 20 percent.
