This price bulletin was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the weekly variation of retail prices for selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets and food security in Malawi.
Highlights
- Average retail prices of chicken, eggs and goat decreased by 1 to 5 percent during June 2021.
- Average retail prices of fresh chambo, fresh mlamba and fresh usipa increased by 0.2 to 10 percent while prices for fresh micheni decreased by 6 percent.
- Average retail prices for dried chambo dried micheni and dried usipa increased by 18 to 52 percent while prices for dried mlamba decreased by 8 percent.
