This price bulletin was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the weekly variation of retail prices for selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets and food security in Malawi.
Highlights
- Average retail prices of chicken and goat increased by 4 and 8 percent repesctively while eggs prices decreased by 2 percent during July 2021.
- Average retail prices of fresh chambo and fresh mlamba increased by 16 and 2 percent respectively while prices for fresh micheni and fresh usipa decreased by 5 and 10 percent respectively.
- Average retail prices of dried chambo, dried micheni and dried usipa decreased by 2 to 11 percent while prices of dried mlamba increased by 2 percent.
