This price bulletin was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the weekly variation of retail prices for selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets and food security in Malawi.
Highlights
- Average retail prices of eggs and goat increased by 3 and 7 percent respectively while chicken prices decreased by 2 percent during August 2021.
- Average retail prices of fresh chambo, fresh mlamba and fresh usipa increased by 1 to 31 percent while prices for fresh micheni decreased marginally by 1 percent.
- Average retail prices of dried chambo, dried mlamba and dried usipa decreased by 9 to 17 percent while prices of dried micheni decreased marginally by 1 percent.
