This price bulletin was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the weekly variation of retail prices for selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets and food security in Malawi.
Highlights
- Average retail prices of chicken and eggs increased by 3 and 2 percent repesctively while goat prices decreased by 6 percent during September 2021.
- Average retail prices of fresh chambo, fresh mlamba and fresh micheni increased by 9 to 20 percent while prices for fresh usipa decreased by 4 percent .
- Average retail prices of dried chambo, dried micheni and dried usipa increased by 6 to 32 percent while prices of dried mlamba increased marginally by 1 percent.
