This price bulletin was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the weekly variation of retail prices for selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets and food security in Malawi.
Highlights
- Average retail prices of chicken, eggs and goat increased by 1 to 6 during October 2021.
- Average retail prices of fresh chambo decreased by 19 percent, fresh mlamba and fresh micheni increased by 4 and 0.1 percent respectively while prices for fresh usipa remained constant .
- Average retail prices of dried chambo and dried usipa increased by 5 and 8 percent respectively while prices of dried mlamba decreased by 7 percent and dried micheni prices remained constant.
