This price bulletin for livestock, livestock products and fish, was developed by researchers at IFPRI Malawi with the goal of providing clear and accurate information on the variation of weekly retail prices of selected agricultural commodities that are important for food security and nutrition in Malawi. The reports are intended as a resource for those interested in agricultural markets in Malawi.
Highlights April 2022
- Average retail prices of live chicken and goat meat increased by 1 and 9 percent respectively while price of egg remained constant during April 2022.
- Average retail prices of fresh micheni and fresh chambo by increased by 2 and 5 percent respectively, while fresh mlamba and fresh usipa prices decreased by 12 and 10 percent respectively.
- Average retail prices of dried chambo and dried mlamba decreased by 7 and 12 percent respectively while dried michen marginally decreased by 1 percent and dried usipa prices remained constant.
