Abstract: Titukulane is a $75M five-year USAID-funded Resilience Food Security Activity, running from 2019 to 2024. The program is implementing Malawi’s National Resilience Strategy (NRS) in Mangochi and Zomba districts. NRS guides investments in agriculture, reduction in impacts and improvements in recovery from shocks, promotion of household resilience, strengthening the management of Malawi’s natural resources, and facilitating coordination between government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners. Titukulane’s integrated approach to resilient food security aims to increase stable and equitable incomes from agricultural and non-agricultural livelihood options; improve the nutritional status of children under 5, women, and the youth; as well as increase institutional and local capacities to reduce risk and build resilience. The policy seminar will present and discuss an integrated activities model that is emerging from the learnings from Titukulane implementation and the expected outcomes for greater resilience building and strengthening.
