The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) and Titukulane (a consortium led by CARE International) in collaboration with National Planning Commision, Right to Food Coalition (hosted by Welthungerhilfe and CISANET), Zurich Flood Resilience Project (Concern Worldwide), SoSuRe (SHA-UP) and FARMSE are organising a National Resilience Learning Event which will take place on 25-27 July at Sunbird Nkopola, Mangochi.
The three-day event aims to facilitate sharing of learnings and best practices around the National Resilience Strategy (NRS) and will focus on the theme: "Navigating Challenges and Celebrating Successes: Lessons on Resilience in Malawi".
The event will focus on the four pillars of the NRS. Day 1 will focus on Pillar 1: Resilient Agricultural Growth and Pillar 3: Human Capacity, Livelihoods and Social Protection. Day 2 will focus on Pillar 2: Risk Reduction, Flood Control, Early Warning Systems and Pillar 4: Catchment Protection and Management, and Day 3 will include half day site visits and half day technical break out group discussions.
